Nick founded Merchant Place Investments after 20 years in the private equity industry.  He has held leadership positions at a number of Australia's most successful investment firms including Quadrant Private Equity and Pemba Capital Partners.

 

Before entering the investment industry, Nick was a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group. He spent his early career in healthcare sales and digital marketing roles.

 

Nick has served as a chairman or board director of over 20 companies.  He is currently chairman of LegalStream and chairman of Ju'vae.​

Marcus has over 20 years of private company investment experience, including nearly a decade working with Nick Batchelor at Pemba Capital (formerly RMB Capital Partners).

 

He commenced his career at the Boston Consulting Group, followed by three years with iFormation Group, a PE fund jointly established by BCG, Goldman Sachs and General Atlantic Partners.

 

Marcus has led or co-led more than 10 investments in small-medium sized private companies, including recent successful exits of investments in Star Car Wash Group and BMT Tax Depreciation.  He is currently a director of Ju'vae.

Nick has had a 25-year career spanning investment banking, management consulting, private equity, senior management roles, and principal investing.

 

He has worked with professional services firms (J.P. Morgan, Bain & Company) and in operational senior management roles (RuleBurst, a software company acquired by Oracle).  He has helped establish a number of new businesses (Arowana Capital, Trade Glass Depot), and has considerable experience operating small and medium-sized businesses.

 

Nick has held more than 20 directorships, and is a trusted advisor to a number of family offices.
